It’s been an emotional rollercoaster for Jose Trevino.
The New York Yankees catcher has burst onto the scene and provided some big moments for his team, one of them being when he picked up the game-winning hit against the Texas Rangers on his late father’s birthday.
The 29-year-old is hitting .261 with seven homers and 27 RBI and has proven to be a spark plug for the Yanks.
Trevino was rewarded on Sunday when he learned that he would be headed to Los Angeles for the 2022 MLB All-Star Game.
On Twitter, Trevino thanked the fans for supporting him as he expressed his excitement for the All-Star Game.
Thank you to everyone that voted for me throughout this process! This South Texas boy is excited to go to L.A and represent the @Yankees and everyone that believes in me! pic.twitter.com/2FRX9o8rhs

You have to feel good for Trevino.
He was acquired as merely a depth piece back in spring training.
Now, he’s a member of the American League All-Star Game roster.
It’s clear he appreciates the fans for supporting him.
And he’s earned the right to be an All-Star.
He’s provided the Yankees with a spark at a position where they had somewhat of a hole after trading away Gary Sanchez.
It’s an exciting time for the Yankees backstop.
He’s been one of the major keys to their success this season.
You can tell Trevino is excited to be an All-Star.
He was very humble in his message on Twitter and is grateful that the fans believed in him and voted for him.
He certainly deserves it.
Trevino is one of six Yankees to be named an All-Star, joining Nestor Cortes, Clay Holmes, Gerrit Cole, Aaron Judge, and Giancarlo Stanton.
The Yankees will be well represented in Los Angeles next week, and Trevino is going to be a part of it.
