QB Steelers Worked Out Heading to Seahawks Minicamp
GREG WOHLFORD/ERIE TIMES-NEWS / USA TODAY NETWORK

The Pittsburgh Steelers had a private workout with former Gannon quarterback Kory Curtis according to MLFootball.

But that will not be the first stop that Curtis makes on his NFL stop. Instead, Curtis will head to Seattle for Seahawks rookie minicamp for a tryout, which could interfere with his ability to join the Steelers or tryout for the team if the are interested in him.

Curtis is a former Ohio State quarterback but thrived up in Erie with Gannon. Over the process he has garnered interest, and has displayed a strong arm in his workouts with teams like the Las Vegas Raiders and Dallas Cowboys.

Over his two seasons with Gannon, Curtis threw for 5134 passing yards and had an impressive 47 touchdowns to 11 interceptions. While Curtis started at Ohio State, he transferred to Bryant and then down once again to Gannon. But his physical tools have popped, giving him looks across the NFL. The Steelers have looked at quarterbacks to fill out their room, and they currently have three quarterbacks after the addition of Kyle Allen. But a rookie like Curtis could make sense for the fourth quarterback spot. Curtis last played with Gannon in 2022.

South Alabama quarterback Carter Bradley is another guy on the level they were interested in, and quarterbacks coach Tom Arth was sent to Mobile for his pro day. A guy at the Senior Bowl, Bradley was the unknown of the group. If you are not used to watching him, he has some surprising zip on his ball, and he plays with arm arrogance. But it can lead to some baffling decisions, and the mechanics on his front leg are a mess, leading to balls spraying all over the field.

Regardless, for a late round quarterback he can sling the pill all over the yard, and those traits are what teams are looking for in targets that late in the class. Curtis is in a similar vein with great physical tools, and given Gannon is a somewhat local school for Pittsburgh, the connection there is strong. He remains someone to monitor closely with a private workout coming up for the Steelers.

Curtis is a free agent, as he was a prospect in the 2023 NFL Draft, but went undrafted.
